NHTSA recall 21V-241 covered certain 2019 and 2020 Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter 4×4 vehicles on the VS30/907 platform built between February 5, 2019, and November 4, 2020. Drivers could notice a gradual increase in steering effort and pump noise indicating low fluid as it leaked.

Manual steering remained, but effort increased, particularly at low speeds. The report says sudden assist loss and hydraulic fluid on the road could increase crash risk.
